Simply stated, "One Rule" is also known as "The Golden Rule" which has been stated a number of different ways down through the ages but always boils down to "Treat Others The Way You Expect To Be Treated".
The "Five Words" are "In Everything, Put God First"; which is an extrapolation from bible verses such as Proverbs 3:6 and Matthew 6:33.
Proverbs 3:6 states "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight" NASB
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus states "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." NASB
Another relevant passage is Proverbs 16:3. "Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established." NASB
The combination of these two statements form a "philosophy" which applies to every aspect of life. Personal, Business, Family, Social, Financial, etc. Put simply, the adoption, and more importantly the practice of this "philosophy" in everyday human behavior would revolutionize our society and resolve so many of the self-imposed, man-made challenges we face today. No, it is not a perfect world; yet as a society we spend so much time looking everywhere else for answers and complicating the issues we face everyday that we overlook the simple truths that have survived the ages and are more relevant today than ever.
The purpose of this blog is to explore the relationship between this "philosophy" and current real-life experiences. Obviously, a personal belief in God is assumed but this thought process is applicable to anyone with some form of moral compass. The philosophical aspects are still relevant whether you express a strong devotion to a particular religious belief or not.
Periodically, real-life experiences will be posted along with relative thoughts surrounding the premise of this blog. Your comments, experiences, and general thoughts are welcomed.
